Lors des dernières fashion weeks, les photographes ont eu plus d’une fois l’occasion de shooter un joli trublion. Pardon ? Un mannequin ne se prenant pas au sérieux et accro aux grimaces ? 12 photos ” pile et face ” de la top qui n’en finit plus de monter.

Kiss the brides

Alors qu’en France le débat fait rage autour du projet de loi en faveur du “Mariage pour tous”, Karl Lagerfeld a décidé de se prononcer à ce sujet de façon limpide lors du défilé Chanel Haute Couture. Chacun retiendra en effet le tableau final inédit de ce défilé : deux mariées et un enfant (en l’occurrence le filleul de M. Karl).

While in France an intense debate continues around the bill for the “Mariage pour tous”, Karl Lagerfeld has decided to comment on that clearly during the Chanel Haute Couture show. Each indeed will retain the final tableau of this parade: two female brides and one child (in this case the godson of Mr. Karl).

Deux heures avant le défilé de Paul Smith à Beaubourg, dimanche 20 janvier : il neige il fait froid. Un moment dans la vie professionnelle agitée de Yannis Vlamos.

Two hours before the Paul Smith fashion show in Beaubourg (Paris) on Sunday 20 January : it’s snowing and it’s cold. A moment in the agitated life of Yannis Vlamos.

La salle est vide, je suis là avec sept ou huit autres techniciens et femmes qui font le ménage et préparent les lieux. Paul smith arrive : parapluie, manteau fatigué, costume bleu marine qui en a vu d’autres. Le chic anglais absolu (pas de vêtements neufs please, ça fait nouveau riche), un grand sourire, un rire contagieux et une bonne humeur à toute épreuve… Il serre la main à chaque personne présente en lui souhaitant “Happy New Year” !

The room is empty, I’m there with seven or eight other technicians and women who clean and prepare the site. Paul Smith gets in : umbrella, tired coat, navy blue suit. The classy absolute British style (and no new clothes please, it’s nouveau riche), a big smile, infectious laugh and good humor to any event … He shakes hands with everyone present, wishing ”Happy New Year” !

Mardi après-midi dans un Londres nuageux et frisquet, derrière le magasin Harrods (quartier de Knightsbridge). On a rendez-vous pour une preview de la ligne Homme de Vivienne Westwood, dans le dépôt des camions de chez Harrods. Entre les bâtiments du parking et le grand magasin emblématique, se dresse un immeuble à briques rouges arborant des drapeaux sur sa façade : l’ambassade de l’Equateur à Londres.

Tuesday afternoon in a cloudy and chilly London, behind Harrods (Knightsbridge). We have an appointment for a preview of the men’s collection by Vivienne Westwood, in the parking for Harrods’ trucks. Between this parking’s buildings and the emblematic store stands a red brick building with flags flying on its facade : the Embassy of Ecuador in London.

De nombreux bobbies en faction montent la garde. En effet derrière ces murs et depuis juin dernier se trouve Julian Assange, le fondateur de Wikileaks. Sous menace d’extradition en Suède, il est en situation d’asile politique accordé par l’Equateur suite aux fameuses fuites diplomatiques de Wikileaks.

Milano summer 2013 : Dolce & Gabbana rewinds.

Printemps-été 1992, la supermodel Cindy Crawford défilait pour Dolce & Gabbana dans une tenue en toile de jute portant des inscriptions à la gloire de l’Italie.

Hat is Hot

Le 16 septembre, Lady Gaga a ouvert le défilé de Philip Treacy à Londres. Originaire d’Irlande, ce chapelier (totalement) fou a collaboré entre autres avec Karl Lagerfeld pour Chanel et Alexander McQueen pour Givenchy. Il est parvenu à ériger le couvre-chef au rang de véritable sculpture pour tête, faisant preuve d’une inventivité et d’une excentricité inégalées chères à certains artistes en quête d’identité visuelle barrée (incluant la Lady Gaga, donc).

Elle a été suivie par les mannequins noires qui portaient les vêtements authentiques de Michael Jackson, dont la veste de Thriller. Les vêtements seront vendus aux enchères à Los Angeles en décembre. Philip Treacy avait rendu visite aux organisateurs de la vente avec sa muse, feu Isabella Blow, pour acheter des faux cils ayant appartenu à Marilyn Monroe.

She was followed by an all-black cast of models wearing outfits from the archive of Michael Jackson, a wardrobe of tiny-waisted stage designs which included the Thriller jacket. The show will be the only UK appearance of the clothes, before they are auctioned in LA in December. Treacy first met the auctioneers who lent the clothes when he visited their archive with his late muse, Isabella Blow, to buy Marilyn Monroe’s false eyelashes.

On september 16, Lady Gaga opened the Philip Treacy’s show in London. Native of Ireland, this crazy milliner has collaborated with Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel and Alexander McQueen for Givenchy. He managed to erect the headwear as a real head sculpture, showing unrivaled inventiveness and eccentricity, dear to some artists in search of mad and unique identity (including Lady Gaga, so).

Parfaitement importables et probablement causes de bien des chutes (le champ de vision à 180° est quelque peu réduit par nombre de pièces), ces ornements sont troublants dans la révélation des potentiels esthétique et ludique de nos pauvres crânes, bien moins exploités que ceux de nos drôles de pieds.
